GAGGED 28/7/07
Dadsplace has been gagged as a consequence of what was a long hearing presided over by Lord Justice Eady. No evidence was heard on behalf of Dadsplace excepting witness statements and in response to legal arguments, the injunctions were granted.

Dadsplace is formally shut down and in compliance with the injunction, the alleged defamatory material has been removed. In addition to that, the remainder of the site has been closed down along with the forums and this is to minimise the risk of material being posted which would leave Mr Bains in breach of the injunction and therefore in contempt of court.
VENDETTA
Since John Bains appeared in the Sunderland Echo he has had his car tyres slashed and the windscreen of his car covered in eggs, a window has been put out and so far he has had four letters threatening violence and death against both himself and his family.

DADSPLACE SITE SHUTDOWN

A North East website which has upset Labour politicians has become the target for a criminal investigation by Northumbria Police. After nearly two years of operation the website Dadsplace has become the subject of an enquiry that is seeking to establish if it is funded by a political party, an arrangement that is illegal in Britain. Insiders have revealed that Northumbria Police were tipped off to an alleged breach of the electoral law after the Labour Party in Sunderland became worried that support for the website was growing along with the site's message to not vote Labour. The Labour Party have become so worried that they have paid to have signs displayed all over the City of Sunderland declaring "Securing the future of Sunderland - vote Labour".

The website alleges high level corruption in Sunderland, a city that is gaining a name for being one of the most corrupt local authorities in the United Kingdom. Details are given of specific acts of corruption, nepotism and fraud and many of the cases are well documented and witnessed by those who work within the Council. One of the key cases presented on Dadsplace relates to Sunderland Council's decision to sell of its 36,000 council homes for £6,200 each to the Registered Social Landlord Sunderland Housing Group who have also become a major opponent of Dadsplace, spending an estimated £210,000 to have the site shut down.

In a bid to progress the enquiry, Northumbria Police are poised to swoop on several homes in Wearside to arrest the alleged ring leaders of the site. A spokesperson for the website said "it is not illegal for an individual to make statements of fact about candidates standing in elections and the statements made on our website are well researched and indeed factual. However it seems that Northumbria Police have been led to believe that Dadsplace is funded and backed by a political party or individual with political interests in the area; we can confirm that this is not the case."

Dadsplace, which was originally created as a forum for be-troubled fathers and mothers to gain access to their children, has been subject to several legal threats by several law firms, apparently at the behest of Labour bosses in Sunderland including Dickinson Dees and more latterly London media and defamation specialists Olswang who have sent letters to over twenty innocent people, many of whom have apparently contacted media and human rights lawyers Carter-Ruck. Carter Ruck are believed to be considering handling the cases against Olswang and their client, Sunderland Housing Group. This latest development is just one in a long line of actions taken to try and stop the website but a site insider has confirmed that they will continue to present information online to "expose corruption and injustice" and they also confirmed that they would "co-operate fully with any investigation by Northumbria Police".

Dadsplace is not affiliated to, or a part of, any other organisation, group or political party and is purely self-funded.

Police forced the North American based hosting company to pull the plug on Dadsplace at 16:00hrs BST as part of their investigation into a claim made, it is alleged, by a Labour politician that Dadsplace is funded by a rival political party. The registrant of the site's domain name was arrested at 7.30am 27th April, after Northumbria Police raided his family home and charged him with an offence relating to the Representation of People Act 1983.

A sympathetic Labour insider told the BNP web team that Labour bosses are circulating a rumour that the British National Party is funding the Dadsplace website. We applaud the courage and determination of the men and women who have created and maintained the web site which details the corruption and nepotism that takes place in the North East’s largest city, and would like to see other similar groups of taxpayers do the same for the corrupt councillors of the Old Gang trio in their respective towns and cities. However, for the benefit of all concerned parties in this affair the BNP has never funded or does fund Dadsplace, nor are we in a financial position to do so. In addition we are well aware of the legislation that regulates the permissible activities of political parties.

The Dadsplace team have recently issued a further press release which states:

“Just to make it clear to Northumbria Police and any other interested party: it is not illegal for anyone to make statements about election candidates if those statements are true. Dadsplace has only ever published what is known to be true and nothing else. The offending pages seem to be the Vote in May page and the Don't Vote David Allan page. Neither page contravenes the law. The statements about David Allan are true and in fact much of the information that could have been published about him has been withheld out of respect for innocent parties. The Vote in May page is a rather tame guide to who we reckon are good voting prospects - that is not illegal. In any case brought this will be the key defence. The Representation of People Act does not allow Northumbria Police to chase down people for expressing an opinion - what an incredible example of New Labour's police state. Dadsplace will be reinstated with a new host as soon as possible but in the meantime you can stay in touch and keep up to speed with developments via these temporary forums."

This is clearly emerging as a dirty tricks campaign to smear the people who maintain Dadsplace and to implicate the BNP in a non-existent crime directly before the council elections. This is nothing to do with politics, everything to do with a criminal gang hanging on to power, money and influence by any means necessary in council chambers, Westminster and other elected chambers. It really is time for Labour to be brought down by all decent men and women. (Source: BNP, Apr/06)
